1. We are a well-established, top-rated private music school.
At Fresno Music Academy & Arts (FMAA), we understand that music lessons are a significant part of people’s lives. Our #1 priority is providing you with a great music learning experience. Fresno Music Academy & Arts was established in 2016, formerly known since 1998 as The Voice Shop. FMAA is the 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, & 2022 winner of the Readers Choice Award from California Parent Magazine for the Best Place for Music Lessons in the Fresno County area. FMAA has a large instructional staff providing you with many lesson options. All of our instructors have formal music training and/or extensive performing experience. All instructor candidates are subject to rigorous background checks before they can become instructors at Fresno Music Academy & Arts.

2. We offer private music lessons.
One-on-one private music lessons are a time honored tradition, and they offer many advantages for you. They provide great flexibility, are easy to schedule, and are available in a wide variety of instruments. They can also provide for an individualized course of study to allow you to advance at your own pace.

3. We have spacious studios with acoustic treatment.
All of our studios are large enough to accommodate a parent sitting in on lessons, and some are large enough for groups and ensemble programs. Additionally, our studios have acoustic treatments to improve sound quality within the rooms.

4. You can start whenever you want with our year-round lessons in various musical instruments.
Your lessons can begin whenever you are ready. Music lessons are offered year-round, and you won’t have to worry about missing lessons during your summer vacation. You and your family can take lessons in various instruments - guitar, piano, voice, drums, violin, and more! FMAA has many instructors, giving you more options for scheduling and musical styles. We are open 6 days per week - Monday thru Saturday.

5. We offer make-up lessons.
If you need to miss your lesson because of a special event, personal/summer vacation, or due to unfortunate circumstances, we can reschedule your lesson to a more convenient time. If we are notified of the cancellation before 24 hours, students receive a private make-up lesson credit. If the lesson is cancelled within 24 hours, students can make-up their missed lessons by signing up for our FREE group make-up lessons - offered one a month at our ViSTA Theater at the Tower location.

6. There is no long-term contract.
Lessons are ongoing and weekly (47 lessons per year), and tuition is paid monthly. Take lessons as long as you like. To withdraw from lessons, FMAA Staff would need to be notified with a withdrawal notice by the 15th day of your final month.

7. We celebrate our student’s achievement.
We are the only music school in Fresno that gives their students the opportunity to earn special color wristbands, certificates, AND trophies for passing musical tests. The Musical Ladder System® is a proven system that helps students get excited about music while helping to keep parents ‘informed’ as to how they are doing. This music teaching system is being used by music schools across the US and Canada to inspire music students to practice more and enhance their love for music.

8. We have special programs for preschool-age children.
We have a wonderful preschool-aged group class that covers all the fundamentals of beginning music and arts, which helps prepare young students for private lessons. FMAA’s award winning Music FunTime program teaches children how to read music in the same way children learn how to read words, and exposes them to different musical instruments, what they sound and look like. There is also some singing and a lot of rhythm instruments involved along with even some “movement” to keep the excitement going. We have Art Fundamentals, which involves a structured curriculum including drawing, painting, sculpting, and crafting! Each child in every class is provided with the foundation needed to be an incredible musician and artist!

9. We provide opportunities to “showcase” our students.
FMAA will provide you at least three recital opportunities each year, which we call Showcases. Your participation in the showcases are optional; however, they are a great way for you to grow your talent and confidence. Instructors will help their students prepare for any showcase, which are in front of a safe and encouraging audience full of students’ friends and family members.

10. Additional Programs
Fresno Music Academy & Arts is always offering opportunities either for musicians to become better at what they do or for lovers of music and the arts to attend performances. From our summer camps for children to our summer camp for adults (Front A Band Fantasy Camp), to acting workshops for young adults, plays, concerts, and more, we are always focused on performance and building confidence and ability through our many programs.
